The Philippines – Signature of the P.A.C. for the Norzagaray cement grinding plant

Republic Cement, a CRH-ABOITIZ company (formerly known as Lafarge Republic Inc.) successfully completed the Industrial Production tests and the Performances Tests for the cement grinding plant in its Norzagaray site and signed with Fives FCB the Provisional Acceptance Certificate of the installation on 22nd July 2016.

This grinding plant operates with FCB Horomill® technology, selected by Republic Cement for its unrivalled advantages in terms of consumption, product quality and flexibility. This fully automatic, zero-water spray consumption and energy-efficient equipment enables to enhance the plant’s production by 850,000 tpy.

Performances have been demonstrated with the production of 108.7 tph of cement with 30% (dry) pozzolana additive, an average fineness of 4 626 Blaine and an electrical consumption limited to 26.4 kWh/t.

After the interruption due to the merger between Lafarge and Holcim, civil works were started on January 2015 and the first cement was produced only 12 months later, at the end of January 2016.
