Starting of the wooden chips handling systems for Mordovcement
In July 2011, Fives FCB signed a contract with the Russian cement producer, JSC Mordovcement, for the design and supply of wooden chips handling systems for rotary kilns in Mordovia, Russia. These wooden chips will be used as an alternative fuel, to feed the Fives Pillard burners, and will enable JSC Mordovcement to substitute up to 40% of its conventional fossil fuel consumption.
The equipment was delivered in October 2012 and two of the handling systems have already been commissioned under Fives FCB’s supervision: lines no. 7 and no. 6 were respectively started up on 29th April and 3rd May 2013.
This successful project is the result of an internal cooperation within the Fives group: Fives Pillard supplied the burners, Fives Stein sent one of their automation specialist for the commissioning, Fives Moscow organized all communication with the client as well as commercial support, translations and logistics, while Fives FCB was in charge of engineering, integration and management of the project.
