New FCB Rhodax® 4D crusher commissioning
A new FCB Rhodax® 4D crusher has been successfully commissioned in November 2016 in a smelter based in Europe.
The FCB Rhodax® 4D - 600 enables our customer to crush its material to get a commercial product, while decreasing the fine fraction production.
As the fine fraction is recycled to the upstream furnace, the better efficiency of the crushing plant compared with the previous one generates high energy savings at the furnace stage.
The flowsheet of the plant was also considerably simplified since the FCB Rhodax® 4D is replacing several previous crushers, thanks to its high reduction ratio.
Other benefits include the reduction of dust emissions and the spacing of the maintenance interventions due to the combination of interparticle in-bed grinding principle and high lifetime wear parts (uninterrupted use ongoing since commissioning in November, without any efficiency drop or repercussion on product grainsize meanwhile, against one week use with previous equipment).
The close collaboration between Fives FCB and its customer’s teams made it possible to clear the previous plant, then install and commission the new one during the July/August period, without interrupting delivery of materials to customer’s end-users.
This challenging project is the best demonstration of how Fives’ innovative technologies can help its customers to reduce their environmental footprint while reinforcing their leadership.
