Holcim Apasco has awarded Fives FCB with a contract for the supply of a complete Greenfield cement plant in Mexico.
This plant features the latest technologies developed by Fives such as the FCB Horomill® grinding mill, the FCB B-mill, the precalciner FCB Zero-NOx Preca, the rotary kiln FCB Kiln and the FCB TSV™ Classifier to reduce the whole installation’s energy consumption and NOx emissions.
Thanks to a long list of references marking the achievements of recent years, Fives secured a contract with Holcim for the delivery of a complete Greenfield cement plant with a capacity of 3,500 tpd in Mexico.
This new plant features the latest technologies developed by Fives to reduce the whole installation’s energy consumption and NOx emissions, including the precalciner FCB Zero-NOx Preca which allows for the use of alternative fuels without emitting NOx at this stage of the process.
The cement grinding plant is also equipped with three FCB Horomill® grinding mills, the most energy efficient technology, and which represents a huge advantage in the arid Mexican State of Sonora where the cement plant is being constructed as it does not require any water injection.
The plant is also equipped with a FCB B-mill, a FCB TSV™ Classifier and a rotary FCB Kiln.
The cement plant was commissioned by the end of 2010 and was inaugurated on March 10th 2011, in the presence of the President of Mexico, Felipe Calderon.
